JC’s Own Stratum Shiraz 2024

JC’s Own Stratum Shiraz 2024

One of Barossa's best unsung winemakers has produced a ripper.  In fact, Mike Bennie said it's one of the best he's tried this year.  The wine is JC’s Own Stratum Shiraz 2023 and it's just $33 a bottle.

"This one comes from Greenock. Ferments in cement. Honestly, one of the best full flavoured, and affordable red, of Barossa, I’ve tried this year.

Succulent, dark fruited, intense. Geez this is rich and ripe but wow that is so well mediated by the chalkiness of tannin and saline, briny minerality and graphite things going on. Depth, silkiness, supple things going on. Ripe, dark cherry, panforte, cola, aniseed, alpine herbs and white pepper. Hazelnut chocolate and bacon bone here too. Fresh. This is delicious."  Rated : 94 Points.   Mike Bennie.  The Wine Front
