Lino Ramble 'Treadlie' Shiraz 2022
From the Hatwell Family Foggo Road vineyard. Vale Shiraz but not as you know it – a brief 5 day skin contact, 10% Nero d’Avola blended in and no oak used at all. Such a light and fresh iteration, a juxtaposition to the regional norm.
“This is a steal. You rarely get this kind of style for this kind of money. Graphite, clove, mint and sweet plum flavours mix with woodsmoke and roasted nuts. It’s complex, sweet-fruited, flavoursome and more-ish. Wow. Go you good thing.” 91 points, Campbell Mattinson, Winefront
Lino Ramble is the personal project of Andy Coppard and Ange Townsend, both previously at Kay Brothers in McLaren Vale. They are both big fans of emerging Italian varietals such as Fiano, Nero d'Avola and Montepulciano.
The wines are natural to the extent there are no deliberate wine-making inputs save for a little (tiny actually) sulphur. Much of the fruit is organically certified.
