Mike Press Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2023
This is medium bodied and has an impeccably pure palate of alluring red fruits, which open up with time in the decanter. The nose is floral with some earthy overtones and the high altitude of the vineyard is captured in the elegant palate.
You'd know it's hard enough to find a pinot noir for $21 odd and until today you probably thought it's impossible to find one from a A-Grade region such as Adelaide Hills. Sounds like we've hit the jackpot doesn't it? I think in a sense we have with this Mike Press Pinot Noir.
“These are the best value wines in the country bar none. They are an honest expression of a beautiful family vineyard, made with authenticity and they are sold for honest prices.” Tyson Stelzer
About the Winery
Mike Press wines started to take shape with he planted 85 acres of grapes at an altitude of 500m in 1993. The intention was to sell the grapes to other wine producers but poor grape prices in the early 2000s convinced Mike to establish the eponyous label.
Mind you, Mike has proper form over his 40yr+ wine career including working along Max Schubert and Chief Wine Maker role at Mildara Blass. Adelaide Hills and quality budget wine have never been bedfellows, that is, until Mike Press came along.
