Murdoch Hill Rose 2022
Murdoch Hill's crisp, dry rosé is made from an unusual blend blend of Cabernet and Pinot Gris. The Cabernet, sourced from Estate vineyards in Oakbank, makes up 70% of the blend and is pressed straight off skins. It takes its colour from the blend and is wild-fermented in old barrique and foudre.
"A little over 20ha of vines have been established on the undulating, gum-studded countryside of Charlie and Julie Downer's 60-year-old Erika property, 4km east of Oakbank. In descending order of importance, the varieties planted are sauvignon blanc, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. Son Michael, with a Bachelor of Oenology degree from Adelaide University, is winemaker." 5 Star Winery Rating 'Outstanding' - James Halliday, 2015 Australian Wine Companion
