The Long Way Around Bianco 2020
Swan Valley Trebbiano blended with Gewürztraminer and Riesling. This is one of a pair of multi-region blends based on the fruit from a wonderful old vineyard in the Swan Valley near Perth. They’re dry-grown bush vines, in quite a hot area very reminiscent of Spain and Portugal.
The blend is mostly Trebbiano, one of Italy’s most versatile and widely planted varieties that goes by many synonyms across Europe. This spent a short time on skins and was then barrel fermented, then was blended with Gewurztraminer from Frankland and Riesling from Porongurup, respectively adding exotic aromas and acidity.
