Vinea Marson Sangiovese 2021
"Matured 12 months in French barriques (20% new). Tasted a good 8 months before release and it was nicely integrated and resoundingly excellent drinking already. It augurs well for a bright future. Briar, pepper, black cherry and kirsch aromas lead into a lightly savoury, medium-bodied palate with Heathcote sweet earth and minerality contributing a natural balance and flow. Boasts a touch of an Italian-inspired dry, firm finish. 95 points. Jeni Port. James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
The release of Vinea Marson’s 2018 Sangiovese is from a single vineyard sourced from the twelve clones in the Sotto & Sopra estate vineyard. Deep garnet in colour, the Sangiovese possesses bright red fruit aromas of dark cherries and ripe raspberries alongside savoury notes of vanilla bean pod, nutmeg and dried herbs.
